Statements of Faith We believe: In one God-the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. That the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living. That man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually. That the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost. That the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin. That the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers. That our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place. More news from Guatemala: (Translated from the Guatemala Nazarene Compassionate Ministries Coordinator, Damaris Kellogg) The IDN Maine USA team visits the community and Church of the Nazarene in Chipolem Raxnam AV serving in an integral way and joining forces with the ministries of Labor and Testimony, M.N.C. (Ministries of Compassion) and Maximum Team (Group of Guatemalan youth with the desire to participate in missions and those who dedicate their resources and time to join the USA group) without them it would not be possible to carry out many of the activities achieved in the Church and in the community. Churches of the District of Maine USA, (China COTN, Augusta First Church, Great Island COTN, Bangor COTN, Dixfield COTN, Phippsburg COTN) together with their District Superintendent Stephen Dillman, visited us again for the second year and have joined to support the work that the Church of the Nazarene in Chipolem, Raxnam AV has begun. Last year God touched their hearts to come help with the roof for the temple where they had already built the walls missing the roof, they were praying that God would supply for the roof. After the group's visit in 2018, they saw the need to help build part of the pastoral house of the Church itself. This time with more vision not only for the Church but also for the community. Although Work and Testimony is merely dedicated to the construction of buildings that belong to the service of the Church, it also provides an opportunity to minister to the community in the area of Biblical School for children and other evangelistic activities. In 2018 we tried to enter public school to work with children in the area of E.B and dental hygiene, although at the beginning it was a little difficult, later the director of the school opened its doors to work with the children in this area. This year we decided to join forces, Labor and Witness Ministries, along with Compassion Ministries, Team Máxima and members of the Maine team worked to raise funds not only for the Construction Project but also to provide Purified Water to the Raxnam community through of Water Filters. God blessed this fundraising and with them 112 EcoFilters were purchased and the company donated another 7 to be delivered in each classroom of the school of that community; of which 37 were given to families of the Church, 75 to families of the school and the community. MNC had the opportunity to offer training in the use and care of filters, proper care of the water and the importance of drinking clean water, as well as sharing the message of "Living Water" that God offers us through his son Jesus. We also had the opportunity to share a sewing class with non-Christian housewives, creating a handbag using recycled canvas pants. The Máxima team shared the message of how we can convert something useful from something that no longer had use; Likewise, relating the message to the change that God makes in our lives, a husband and wife of Grangeville ID, donated sewing kits which were shared to each participant in this class. It was a very pleasant time for the ladies who participated as they rarely take time away from housework for themselves. While they were in the class, part of the Maxima team and young people from Maine had activity with the children while the men of the Maine team continued in the construction. Taking advantage of the fact that we are just at the beginning of the school year and through donations of backpacks and school supplies, we were able to prepare 70 pockets with basic supplies to bless the children and relieve some of the cost of supplies for parents, hoping that many children will not they remain without studying because of the lack of school supplies. We thank God for the opportunity we had to share with the Church and the community. Not only could the Project for the roof for the pastoral house be completed, but we also had the opportunity to evangelize from door to door, sharing Jesus, praying for homes and for the sick. We celebrate times of communion with the body of the Church by worshiping our God who unites us and in whom we are one family. Thank you very much Team of the District of Maine for your obedience to God's call to come and serve our Guatemala. We pray that God will multiply his blessings on each Church represented in this group and each person who participated in donations to make all this possible. Together we are the Church of Christ crossing borders regardless of language, and where the love of God unites us and moves us to serve. To God be the glory!
